Scott attended the University of Vermont where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He later graduated with honors from the nationally-recognized Robinson School of Business in Atlanta, Georgia, with a MBA-finance degree. Scott is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) practitioner. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds the Personal Financial Specialist (CPA/PFS) designation awarded by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Scott has spent his career devoted to the development of the financial planning profession with a specific passion for consumer advocacy. He has served in many national leadership roles including as Chairman of the Board of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, the leading national organization of fee-only financial planners. In 2020, Scott was awarded NAPFA’s highest honor, the Robert J. Underwood award, recognizing his many contributions to the organization and to the profession.

Scott shares his skills in the community by serving on the Board of Directors for several charitable entities. His hobbies include hiking, skiing and sailing with his family.
